This is not a typical trip, and this is not a typical cruise. This is an expedition to the end of the world, done in comfort, aboard a small expedition ship with no more than 96 guests. With expert guides, and with the flexibility to experience Antarctica the way it was meant to be experienced: up close, by small Zodiac, on foot, and surrounded by some of the most extraordinary landscapes on Earth. This is Antarctica. A landscape of glaciers, icebergs, wildlife, and silence on a scale that is almost impossible to describe until you see it for yourself.
After crossing the legendary Drake Passage, we spend four days exploring the Antarctic Peninsula and South Shetland Islands. Traveling by small expedition ship allows us to explore this environment in comfort observing penguins, seals, and whales in one of the most untouched environments on the planet. No two expeditions are ever the same, and that is part of what makes this journey unforgettable.

This journey features a collection of premium boutique hotels throughout the trip:

Perched high on a rocky cliff above the city of Ushuaia, the Arakur Resort & Spa is comfortably the best hotel in town and a memorable way to begin the expedition. Set within the 250-acre Cerro Alarkén Nature Reserve, the hotel was built using sustainable design practices and local materials, with 14 types of native wood and stone quarried directly from the cliff on which it sits. The result is a striking property that feels entirely rooted in its landscape, with oversized windows in every room framing sweeping views of the Beagle Channel, the city below, and the mountains of Tierra del Fuego beyond. The spa extends indoors and outdoors with a panoramic lap pool and hot tubs overlooking the bay, and hiking trails lead directly from the hotel into the surrounding reserve. It is a genuinely special place that sets the tone perfectly for the adventure ahead.

A brand new ship for an untouched continent. Magellan Discoverer is purpose-built to enhance our Antarctic experience. Crafted in Chile, the vessel meets the latest Polar Code standards and will begin sailing in 2026.

The boutique vessel offers five accommodation categories. All travelers will be in Deluxe Veranda cabins featuring private balconies and king-size beds that can be converted as two twin beds. Each cabin has a wardrobe, individual heating control, a sitting area, and a private bathroom with a shower.

On board, you can enjoy a panoramic observation lounge and presentation room equipped with cutting-edge audio-visual technology. The ship also boasts a spacious dining room, a bar, a library, a meeting room, a gym, a sauna with an open view, and a medical clinic. The fitness center aboard Magellan Discoverer has been designed and built by the professionals at Anytime Fitness. The top deck features a 360° walking track, providing unparalleled vantage points for viewing wildlife and enjoying the Antarctic landscape. With a fleet of 12 Zodiacs, the vessel is perfectly suited for daily outdoor excursions, disembarking guests on land at once.
