Built by Detours, Mawari was created for travelers who value beautiful places, well-paced journeys, and experiences that feel considered rather than rushed. The name draws inspiration from the Japanese word mawarimichi, meaning “detour”: a quiet nod to our sister brand and a philosophy we've carried into everything we do. It's a way of traveling that wanders with intention, leaving room for discovery, connection, and the moments you didn't plan for.

On a Mawari trip, where you stay is a core part of the experience. Every accommodation is selected to meet a true 5-star standard, with a focus on properties that feel elevated in a way that's intentional, not excessive.
